DIY: Micro-dermabrasion paste

Hello everyone!

I've been using baking soda to exfoliate my skin for years, in fact Scrub your face with sodium bicarbonate! was one of my first blog posts back in May, 2011!  Today I want to give you a simple DIY recipe for homemade microdermabrasion using baking soda.  Let's get started!

Ingredients:
Method:

Mix baking soda and raw honey in a small container (or you can use coconut oil instead).  Combine to form a paste-like consistency and add one drop of tea tree oil.

How to use:
  • Wash your face with warm (not hot) water to open up the pores.
  • Apply the mixture to your face and neck.  Use your fingertips to massage gently but firmly in a circular motion.  Do this for 3 to 5 minutes to remove the layer of dry, dead skin cells and reveal younger, healthier-looking skin.
  • Rinse with cool water and pat dry.  You may notice some redness but this is normal.
  • Using a cotton ball, apply rose water to your face and then moisturise with a facial serum or your favourite moisturiser.
  • Repeat once or twice a week for best results.
Note: Since baking soda is alkaline, it may upset your skins natural pH.  Using rose water after the treatment will help you restore your skin to its natural pH.  Use a moisturiser with SPF in it if youre going to spend a lot of time in the sun after you exfoliate your skin.

If you use this DIY  microdermabrasion paste, let me know your thoughts!
